Hermenegildo Altozano is a lawyer and partner in Hogan Lovells International LLP


In addition to being a practising lawyer and a member of the Madrid Law Society, he holds a law diploma recognised by the Republic of Cuba and has practiced in the field of corporate law in the USA after finishing the Program of Instruction of Lawyers at Harvard University.

He has acted for a range of clients including the SPANISH TOURIST BOARD, the SPANISH ELECTRICITY BOARD, the REPUBLIC OF MONTENEGRO and the REPUBLIC OF CUBA.

He has provided legal advice for the latter on a broad spectrum of activities, including Aviation (Joint Venture Agreements), Energy (gas, oil and electricity), Banking (project finance; Structured Facility Agreements), Tourism (Joint Venture Agreements; hotel management contracts; lease contracts), Construction (Joint Venture Agreements), Food Industry (beverages; Shares Purchase Agreements) and Telecommunications (Joint Venture Agreements; Operation Agreements).

In addition to this, Hermenegildo is a frequent contributor to publications such as Expansión, El Mundo, El Pais, and the magazine Política Exterior.

He is a regular guest on the radio programme Intereconomía and has lectured around the world, in South and Central America, Europe and the USA.
